Letter from our Governors
On behalf of the Governing Body, may I give a warm welcome to all pupils and parents to Alderwood School for this academic year.
The role of the Governing body is to offer strategic leadership in the vision, ethos and future direction of Alderwood. We support and challenge the leaders of the school to ensure that every child has the best education they can for their needs and future aspirations. We also oversee the finances of the school to make sure every penny is spent for the benefit of the children and their wider education. As Governors, I believe our most important role is the safety, education and welfare of our pupils.
We are now into the 3rd academic year of the, now not so new, Alderwood School across the Infant, Junior and Senior sites. We were all very excited at the start of this journey back in April 2017 when the change took place and I hope you agree, into the 3rd academic year, there have been many positive changes to enrich your child’s education and the quality of teaching and facilities on offer, although we are aware there is always more that can be done.
Whether you are a pupil who has been here for a while or if it is your first academic year with us, I really hope you enjoy the learning experience, achieve your learning objectives and feel prepared for the next chapter of your life, wherever that may take you.
I, along with the rest of the Governing Body, look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the coming weeks and months.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss anything further at email@example.com.
Have a great year!
(Chair of Governors)
