School Chaplain & Faith Events

Rev’d Sandra Platford is wife to Bryan and mother of 5 children, ages range between 9 and 25yrs.  Sandra’s background is in nursing and also she ran her own business in Portsmouth; a Christian Bookshop and Coffee Shop before sensing a call to enter into the ministry.  Sandra trained for 4 years at Spurgeon’s College whilst fulfilling her role as minister in training at Waterlooville Baptist Church and graduated in June 2013 with a 2:1 Batchelor of Theology Honours Degree.  In July 2013 Sandra was ordained and in August 2013 moved to Aldershot in preparation for her induction as the Minister of Aldershot Baptist Church.

In addition to Sandra's office at Aldershot Baptist Church, she took up the voluntary role of becoming Alderwood School Chaplain.  In her role at the school she helps to deliver assemblies and helps assist with the GCSE RE group discussions.  In her role as school chaplain Sandra is present for all faiths and none.

I have a passion and desire to see the young people develop into the best that they can be.  I would like to think that I would encourage our young people to dream big and to help them recognise the potential each one of them already has.

The Chaplaincy role is one that is developing over time, Rev’d Platford is available for not only for pupil support but staff and families also; to act as a sounding board, an intermediary or just a friendly face.

You can contact Rev’d Sandra Platford through the school or you can email her directly
